Cancun

Well since I last wrote I moved in with the family. I am sharing a small apartment with a swiss guy called Andre, who complains a lot cos he has a girlfriend in Guatamala, where he was studying before, but he already paid for twelve weeks here then they wouldn’t give him his money back, but they would give him lessons like eight hours a day for three weeks which is good of em ( don’t you think ), so now he is love sick and complaining all the time. Anyway, we went to Cancun at the weekend and there was nothing there at all, cept expensive beer and food, so we came back, then I got food poison and had to lie in bed all day sunday and eat nothing. Not good news.

The school is OK, but it is a long way from the lodging and every day I have to cross the Carratera Federal, which is like taking your life in your hands, tho there are lights the traffic comes from all directions, someone is going to get killed. Not sure yet how long I’ll be here, I think to stay a few more weeks in Playa, but it rains horrible every day, and it is really depressing. They say that Merida is a nice town as my cousin in Norway lived there a while ( hello Catherine if you are still reading me now and then ) , so I think to move there next, dunno.

Playa Del Carmen

Had a nice day out in Playa Del Carmen. Watched the football in a bar where the waiter type said he would bring a shot of tequila for every goal scored by England. Haha! 5 – 1 , I bet he was spewing, tho I don’t think spirits cost much here, which reminds me I will be here for the day of the dead, so keep watching my blog.

So far I really love it here in Mexico, so I’ll stick around for a while and maybe rent an apartment ( cheap holiday alert for anyone who knows me ).

Tomorrow I go to my family lodging where I  will be forced to speak Mexican.

Sunny outlook

It rained again this morning, but now it’s pretty sunny. I didn’t get out much yesterday, just as far as 5th avenue to get something to eat in a touristy restaurant, which was not bad, but neither was it great. They had happy hour, and I had a nice soup and some fajitas which swam with enough grease to cross the english channel. Anyway, I also went into WalMart and the cafeteria there was a bout a tenth of the price, tho there was no happy hour, just nice looking cheap food. Maybe I’ll go eat with the shoppers today….

Here’s a picture of the outside of my room, the inside is very untidy as I told the maid not to bother making it up yesterday as I was happy louging on the bed and didn’t want the bother.

And the courtyard.
